Go, go, go

That's what we do when we're on a vacation! I told N8 that I might need a vacation when we got back from our vacation!!! Too bad that's not going to happen! Both N8 and I agree that the Durango area is beautiful!

Well we started out our trip on Monday by driving through the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. N8 had only been there once and the kids had never been there. It was a quick drive thru on our way to our hotel for the night, but well worth it.

Once we got into Page, AZ we drove over to the Glen Canyon Dam to see the dam and Lake Powell. We unfortunately missed the tour by about and hour, but the kids thought it was very fun to see the dam and the lake.

The next day we drove across northern Arizona and the Navajo Indian Reservation. We were able to make a brief stop at 4-corners.

Then we met Carol and Bruce at Mesa Verde National Park. We hiked down to one of the cliff dwellings. When our kids are older (and better climbers) we'll have to go again to some of the other dwellings.

Paul we able to get us a great lodge that our whole family nicely fit in for our reunion. We had 29 people there and had a blast! We got a family picture, since the last time we were all together was 2 years ago.

That evening my sister Ruth was in charge of the evening entertainment! She did a "getting to know you" game called funny bones. Here are some seriously funny shots from the game!! Sheri and I got to know each other a lot better!!!

The next day was our hike. The area was gorgeous, so green!

Karen was in charge of the program for this day and chose to have a Star Wars theme!! Who knew that grown men could get so into a noodle light saber duel!!

That afternoon some of the group went rafting while some stayed behind to play games.

The next day we all headed to Durango mountain Ski Resort for the Alpine slide and some bull riding!!

Then we headed up to Ouray,CO to a hot spring pool. It was perfect for all ages, except when they closed due to lighting! Luckily we had already been in for quite a while.

We then went on a short hike to a great waterfall. It was neat to be able to go to something so neat so close (only about a 1/4 mile each way!).

We cleaned up the next morning and all headed off on our own way. It was so neat to have all six of us there. We missed our parents, but know the mission is where they are suppose to be. We look forward to our next reunion!!

On our way home we drove through Moab so we could go to Arches National park. The arches were very interesting. N8 would love to go back and do some hiking!

Hey...that getting to know you game looked like something you might play at a baby shower in Ridgecrest! Looks like lots of fun. I went to Mesa Verde once when I was 13...would love to go again. Jane kept asking when we were at the beach where Emma was...
