We left for our Summer Vacation, what we have named "The Great Northwest Loop" on Tuesday (July 3rd) evening after N8 finished up at the church with meetings. We made it to our hotel on the north end of Las Vegas just after 11pm and quickly went to bed knowing we would want an early start the next morning.
We were out the door of the hotel by about 8:30am or so. One of our "goals" of this trip was to find at least one geocache in each state we went to. So we pulled off in Mesquite,NV and found our first cache. if I remember correctly it was a green banana hanging in a tree in front of an old building!!
Next we headed onto our short stint in AZ (you end up being in Arizona for about 30 miles or so!) and N8 led me off the freeway and the kids jumped out and found an X marks the spot, super easy find, cache. That 2 states down!!
We kept on our way and ended up having lunch in Filmore,UT at a Carl's Jr. There happened to be a cache in the parking lot, so....N8 and the kids logged a cache in UT! Then again in Springville,UT in a gas station parking lot.
We did eventually make it to that days destination-Eagle Mountain, UT and my sister and brother in laws house, Carol, Bruce & Family!! My other sister Karen and her family also stayed there that night. We were super excited to spend the afternoon and evening visiting with them since they had recently moved to UT and the had a brand new baby (and 2 year old) we had not met!!
The older cousins took the younger ones on a bike ride!
We decided after dinner to get some ice cream!
Then some 4th of July fireworks and glow sticks!
We headed out in the morning to our next destination, Bear Lake and the family reunion!!
