Good-bye Paccha Kitty...

Today was a very sad day. Today we had to say goodbye to our kitty Paccha. This weekend we noticed that he wasn't eating and was being very lethargic. Then vomiting and muscle weakness. I took him to the Vet this morning and got a call a few hours later. His kidneys and liver were shutting down. She could try some extreme measures, but she felt that even that probably would just prolong his pain and discomfort.

So we took the kids over to say goodbye. Emma is taking it the hardest and Bud is pretty sad as well. Mo and obviously Henry do understand.

Paccha was the fluffiest, friendliest, fattest kitty around and we love him a lot.

He's 9!!!

9 years ago today, my life was changed forever. I became a mother. Every year Bud gets older new adventures unfold. School, cub scout, friends, they all keep him on his toes. We love him and look forward to what adventures this year will hold!

Here he is just a few days old with his favorite blanket. It's just barely holding on. We'll see if it will last another year!

On Saturday a few friends went to McD's for lunch for an early birthday celebration!

Cougar Pride...

Both N8 and I attended and graduated from Brigham Young University, BYU, The Y (and in my opinion there is no need to specify the location is Provo because the BYU located in Provo is the true BYU :)!).

We both enjoyed our time there, received top notch educations at a fraction of the cost of most Universities and are grateful for the chance we had to attend.

We have "Cougar Pride" but I will admit, we're not sports watchers. We don't even pay attention to when the BYU football team will be playing. It's not that we don't want them to win, we just have too many other things going on. Plus our kids aren't really into sports and would just drive us crazy if we tried to sit down and watch a game.

Today Henry showed his Cougar Pride with his outfit! My sister and brother in law got this for him when he was born, I think it's hilarious!

Go Cougars!

Teaching preschool...

This week was my week to teach our coop preschool. It's 2 days a week for 2 hours. My theme was the Alphabet. I also had the letter "A". In all I think it went well. Henry makes things a little tricky at times, wanting to be held or do the activities the other kids are doing, but now I'm done until Halloween!!

Here are a few of my favorite shots of Mo:

I'm posting my lesson plans and ideas over on my craft blog so I have a central place to look back at them.

Beautiful Baby...

Henry really enjoyed being outside today at the soccer game. N8 got some great pictures of him!

And my favorite!!

Landscaping take two...

On Labor Day we tackled one of our front yard flower beds. Today we started tackling the other. This flower bed was in more disrepair that the other. Two lonely sad plants/bushes and dirt. That about it!
Here's what we started with:

We went with the same border as the other bed:

And the finished product:

The dirt is so dry and full of lava rocks. So I'm going to water it in for a few days and add some manure before adding plants.

Our new soccer star...

Today Emma had her very first soccer game! She was so excited.

She already knew 2 other girls on her team which helps,

and she loves being out there having fun!

She is on the Racers and they ended up with a tie 1-1!

On our way home from the came our community was having a Parade of 1,000 flags in memory of 9/11. I was glad we got a glimpse of this special event and hope we can participate next year.
