The building of the Roman Colosseum!

In sixth grade history they have to create a project about something they have studied throughout the year.  Benjamin chose the Roman Colosseum.
After some googling of ideas we decided that he could build one out of JENGA blocks, hot gluing them together. I cut many in half and thirds to have different sizes.

They also had to write an acrostic poem. Here's Benjamin's:

C      Construction of this ancient place started around 70-72 A.D.
O      Once, a Christian monk tried to stop a gladiator fight in the Colosseum
L       Leading its construction was Vespasian
O      Over 45,000 people could fit in the Colosseum
S       Strong arches and concrete were used to build it
S       Slaves were used as gladiators or to clean up dead bodies
E       Everyone in the Colosseum was seated according to their class
U       Under the rule of Emperor Honorius, he banned fights to the death
M     Many animals, shipped from faraway lands, were brought to the Colosseum

We're nearing the finish-line of the school year. I'm looking forward to sleeping, no homework, and pool days!
